Wine of the Month

Grand Bateau Blanc 2015

Grand Bateau Blanc has received a lot of attention here in Norway this year since its release on the Norwegian Wine Monopoly. Praised for its quality and price in several newspapers.

Bordeaux are mostly know for the great red wines and luscious sweet wines, and the dry white wines has yet managed to gain the same reputation as its other siblings. Most of the red wines are produced North in Bordeaux while a greater share of the dry white wines are made South in the Graves area.

Grand Bateau Blanc appeared onto the market thanks to a close cooperation between Chateau Beychevelle from St.Julien and Maison Barriere. The viking ship on the label is a tribute to the admiral and the first duke of Epernon. The wine have been made from the classical white Bordeaux varieties; Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
